SOUNDS OF NATURE - ART IN THE GARDENS - HORNIMAN MUSEUM

2023 June - November 2023 installed in the Horniman Museum Gardens, London.

Invited by the Horniman Museum, London, to work with a group of local secondary school students from the London borough of Lewisham to respond to the Horniman’s Gardens and natural world to explore themes of sustainability, climate action, ecological issues through sound.

Over four workshops students were invited to use a variety of drawing and mark-making techniques to respond to music inspired by nature and to being in the Horniman Gardens and nature reserve. Through listening and drawing activities, students interpreted their sonic environment and considered climate and ecological issues that were relevant to them. Sound and drawing became ‘tools for noticing’.
