“Life on earth is at stake” says Professor Anna Tsing [i]The myth of Progress promises a linear path of growth with each future bettering the last, a system of extraction, subjugation and “making both humans and nonhumans into re-sources for investment…through alienation, people and things become mobile assets.” [ii]

Some might say I abandoned my garden. A concerned text from a neighbour informed my landlord that the garden was ‘in need of care’. Over a year I let my garden ‘go’ and filmed it on a 1980’s VHS Camera and mobile. My film South Facing Garden, 2022, draws attention to observing as an act of proactively sensing space and life forms. The viewer hears the camera pan, the zoom slipping in and out of focus, it becomes a ‘tool for noticing’
